APOLLO COBALT
APOLLO COBALT table exudes a sense of unbearable lightness of being, a reverb of a Philip Kaufman movie under the same title, as it holds an impressive spherical sapphire made of cobalt glass in a firm grip of four intersecting parabolas. The parabolas comprise the whole load-bearing structure of the table topped by a large, glass panel. They are made of chrome-plated metal strips, sandwiched between mahogany cladding on both sides. The layers are horizontal which makes the legs look very slim given the span of the table top which they support. Despite its large size, this table is somewhat reminiscent of water skeeters, large insects with long, thin legs that can walk on water due to surface tension. The table provides ample room for seating 10 to 12 guests.
